Directly from the participants

Open discussion forums: Encourage learners to share their thoughts, questions, and experiences as they go through the programme.

"Suggestion Box" features: Offer an anonymous way for them to send in spontaneous ideas or comments.

Live Q&A sessions: If you're doing virtual live sessions, use the chat functions and dedicated Q&A slots to grab immediate questions and comments.

Quick one-to-one chats: For smaller groups, brief individual check-ins can unearth some really deep insights.

Indirectly from the participants

You can also gather useful feedback indirectly. Keep an eye out for patterns in discussion contributions, common misunderstandings in assignments, and just the general mood of the learners. Encourage learners to give each other constructive feedback on their work; this can highlight areas where your instructions or expectations could be clearer.

Bringing It All Together:

The two most important things to do are:

Make sure that you change things in the light of feedback! Don’t just collect monitoring data. Use it to make informed changes to make things better.
Tell the learners about the changes that you’ve made based on their feedback. This shows them their input really matters and encourages them to keep getting involved. Share a “You Said, We Did” summary of the improvements you’ve put in place because of their contributions.
