Mostly, we start with vague aspirations. Before we can make a plan, we need something much more specific. In management, this is generally a SMART objective. In this case, SMART is an acronym that refers to:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Attainable
- Relevant
- Time-specific
But be warned, there are a variety of versions of SMART objectives where people attribute different characteristics to S, M, A, R and T
